In the modern world, many people are living in a frequently stressed or anxious state. This can make it hard to think clearly and more likely that you worry and get caught up in unhelpful patterns of thinking. It can make it hard to get things done and be efficient and lead you to feel so overwhelmed that you become easily triggered by your children's behaviour, have little patience and lose your temper when you'd rather model how to be calm and compassionate in the face of life's frustrations. - What if I miss a week?You have access to all of the sessions for a year (until 21st November 2022) so there is plenty of time for you to catch up or repeat the course if you want to
- I don't feel anxious all the time, only sometimes. Is this for me?It's normal to feel anxious from time-to-time in response to threatening situations. Anxiety becomes a problem if you are frequently anxious, it's very intense or it's out of proportion to the situation. This course is for you if you want to help yourself deal with the tricky feelings that come up at those times regardless of how often you experience them
- Isn't it inevitable to feel overwhelmed as a parent?Parenting does bring many challenges with it but it is always our reaction to that which determines how we feel. Feeling overwhelmed doesn't have to be an inevitable part of being a parent. Many parents are able to manage the pressures and responsibilities inherent in being a parent and the course can teach you how to do that too
- How much time is needed for the course?You will need about 40 minutes a week as a minimum. The more additional time you commit, the quicker you will benefit. Once you have learnt the exercises you will be able to do them in your mind as you are going about your day.
